Joyce Ellis, our amazing teacher, would like for each participant to bring a size H needle and a solid color skein of yarn to the class. Of course, this applies to those completely new to the craft of crocheting. Remember, the time spent here @ the library among old and new friends along with a skein of yarn and a crochet hook is a wonderful way to enjoy your weekend!

Book Club
Join us on this date at the Jeffersonville location for a Conversation about BOOKS! What makes this book club different from other ones is we don't read the same book nor do we discuss in depth what we each have been reading since our last get together the previous month. What we are is a very relaxed group of readers and this is a very informal hour devoted to books! During this one hour, we share what we have been reading and then we usually will get off topic. Someone might mention a mystery book they just read and that might lead to a discussion about a movie someone else recently saw on TV or in the movie theatre, you get the picture. In other words, if the conversation gets off topic and leads to a discussion about other things, we try to just go with the flow. Some of the more interesting conversations happen when we get off topic! This hour is also a great way to reconnect with old friends and to make new friends, depending on who attends. The ones who attend on a regular basis are usually avid readers and are happy to share what they've been reading as well as recommending some of their favorite titles and authors and genres! There's a little bit here for everyone, so please come and check us out, no pun intended!

So you want to learn to sew! A great opportunity awaits at your Library. Whether or not you've operated a sewing machine, or if you've attempted simple sewing projects and weren't satisfied with the results, you're invited to attend our class to learn basic sewing skills. You will learn how to: - Operate a sewing machine.
- Control stitching of a variety of seams, hems, and finishing raw edges.
- Complete a usable project that will reflect your newly-honed sewing skills.
You may select between 2 projects: creating a simple apron or a reusable tote bag. The Library supplies all materials and the tools for completing the projects. A JTPL library card is required to use the Makerspace; click here to get one if you don't already have one! Class size is limited. Three sewing machines are available for sharing. If your sewing machine is portable, you're welcome to bring it to the class for your own use.
Please note this is PART TWO of a FOUR PART class on the basics of sewing and registration is required.
