So you want to learn to sew! A great opportunity awaits at your Library. Whether or not you've operated a sewing machine, or if you've attempted simple sewing projects and weren't satisfied with the results, you're invited to attend our class to learn basic sewing skills. You will learn how to:
- Operate a sewing machine.
- Control stitching of a variety of seams, hems, and finishing raw edges.
- Complete a usable project that will reflect your newly-honed sewing skills.
You may select between 2 projects: creating a simple apron or a reusable tote bag. The Library supplies all materials and the tools for completing the projects. A JTPL library card is required to use the Makerspace; click here to get one if you don't already have one!
Class size is limited. Three sewing machines are available for sharing. If your sewing machine is portable, you're welcome to bring it to the class for your own use.
Please note this is PART TWO of a FOUR PART class on the basics of sewing and registration is required. By registering for this class, you are expected to attend ALL 4 sessions. If your schedule may keep you from attending any session or you’re not serious about learning these skills, please don’t register, as space is limited. Your commitment is expected and appreciated.
