Families, especially grandparents and their grandchildren, are cordially invited to the Jeffersonville Township Public Library Grandparent and Grandchild Hiking Club. This FREE club is specially designed for the needs of grandparents and their grandchildren, providing an opportunity to combine light exercise for the whole family with fun social and literacy activities. Every month spring through fall, we will choose a Clark or Floyd County trail that’s accessible to those using wheelchairs and strollers. We’ll give special priority to trails that are near playgrounds and story walks so those inclined can play while those who wish for a rest can cool their heels and socialize. During a break from hiking, library staff will entertain families with story time. While grandparents and grandchildren are especially encouraged to attend, the program is open to all families with children. Our May meeting will take place at Perrin Family Park. Please meet in the parking lot near the Perrin Lane entrance at 10 a.m.. The club will change meeting places regularly. Check the library events calendar or call the library desk to learn of each month’s venue.
Please wear appropriate weather gear and comfortable shoes. Participants should bring their own water and snacks. In the event of a cancelation, registered participants will be contacted via email and phone.
