Program Description

Event Details

Family history researchers of all levels are cordially invited to join our family history club This month, we'll explore the treasures in club and organization records. Early American clubs often noted members' birth, marriage, and death dates, the names of their spouses, parents, and children, and their addresses and occupations. Immigrants communities and African Americans often had their own clubs, providing vital records about people that may be named nowhere else.

Attendees will get to view real archival documents first-hand, plus learn where to find other documents in our region, Diane Stepro, Jeffersonville Township Public Library’s family and local history librarian, who also serves as the Clark County genealogist, will lead the meeting. Attendees are welcome to participate and contribute informationBring your questions, your curiosity, and your willingness to help other researchers. We look forward to meeting you! So long as the group fits, it will meet in Jeffersonville Township Public Library’s Anne Discher Memorial Learning Lab on the south end of the library’s Jeffersonville branch.
