The Clarksville group meets in-person the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. The group started out as an Oprah Book Club group and has continued for the past 25 years with lively discussions and thoughtful reading. Beyond Hoosier True Crime examines wild and notorious cases of true crime in the United States. Each month we will take a look at a new case and discuss it in detail. We will explore how our criminal justice system handled the crime and ultimately resolved its outcome. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the discussion with their own thoughts, and even to suggest future cases to be covered. Due to the mature content being discussed, this program is for adult audiences only.

So you want to learn to sew! A great opportunity awaits at your Library. Whether or not you've operated a sewing machine, or if you've attempted simple sewing projects and weren't satisfied with the results, you're invited to attend our class to learn basic sewing skills. You will learn how to: - Operate a sewing machine.
- Control stitching of a variety of seams, hems, and finishing raw edges.
- Complete a usable project that will reflect your newly-honed sewing skills.
You may select between 2 projects: creating a simple apron or a reusable tote bag. The Library supplies all materials and the tools for completing the projects. A JTPL library card is required to use the Makerspace; click here to get one if you don't already have one! Class size is limited. Three sewing machines are available for sharing. If your sewing machine is portable, you're welcome to bring it to the class for your own use.
