Join us on this date when our special guest will be Dr. Tom Owen, who will educate us on our Beloved Local River!

For 50 years, Dr. Tom Owen has been the Archivist for Regional History at the University of Louisville's Archives and Special Collections. In 2015, he ended twenty-years of part-time elected service as a member of Louisville's Metro Council, where he represented the Highlands.

As a Public Historian, Dr. Owen gives historical tours of all kinds as well as talks on various history topics. Over the decades, he has produced historical videos, YouTube features, and radio and television segments.

Dr. Owen holds degrees from Kentucky Wesleyan College, Methodist Theological School in Ohio, the University of Louisville, and especially a Doctorate in American History from the University of Kentucky.
