Event Details

Jeffersonville Township Public Library presents local history librarian Diane Stepro with a peek into the library’s early 20th century archival holdings. Vonnegut grew up in Indiana, and the hustle and hubbub of Hoosier manufacturing informed much of his writing. As a manufacturing center closely linked to his hometown of Indianapolis by rail, life in Jeffersonville at that time would have seemed familiar to Vonnegut. Attendees will view photos and documents from the Great Flood of 1937, Quarter Master Depot, and other topics important to the local history of the time. To learn more, join us in the Center Program Room of the Jeffersonville Library.  This presentation is recommended for anyone with an interest in history.
