Join us on this date for our Neonatal Kittens Class with Liz Gonzalez, Operations Coordinator at the Jeffersonville Animal Shelter!

Neonatal kittens are newborns to four weeks old. At this stage of life, they are rather vulnerable and require special round-the-clock care; that is, if the mother cat is not around or unable to care for her kittens.

In today's class, Liz will be teaching us how to care for these helpless kittens.  She will cover mommas and their babies, and the shelter's trap, neuter, and release program.

Since these kittens are their most at-risk pets in the shelter, Liz would like to get more of the community involved and interested in becoming foster parents, avoiding overpopulation, and more.

A few months ago, Liz wrote the Cat and Kitten Foster Manual and she will be using it to teach today's class.

Fostering these kittens is something the entire family can do together.  If someone under 18 is interested in attending this class, then a parent or adult must be present; that is also part of the shelter's protocol for volunteering.

Pre-registration is requested for planning purposes.
