How often do you think about the Roman Empire? It will be a lot more often after watching Ridley Scott's Oscar®-winning film, Gladiator. The film tells the fictional story of the change from the Pax Romana under the Five Good Emperors through the decline under Commodus following his ascension to Emperor after the death of his father, Marcus Aurelius. Despite fictionalizing these events, the general vibes of the Empire is one of the most accurate on film. Rated R.
