Program Description

Event Details

Join us on this date for an Art Reception in Honor of Ann Hemdahl-Owen! Her exhibit - Standing in Awe: Honoring our Environment/Mother Earth - will be running from Saturday, February 22 - Tuesday, April 1, 2025. On this date, come to the library and enjoy some light refreshments while meeting the artist herself! It will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Her paintings - all acrylic - were ones Hemdahl-Owen developed during the five months of the Animystica program, which was the creation of Shiloh Sophia. Sophia developed imusea.org, a university in California, roughly twenty plus (20+) years ago. The focus of Animystica was respect for the great diversity of our earth, the natural elements, and all peoples!

In her academic career, Hemdahl-Owen became a full professor at Jefferson Community Technical College and her area of expertise was in Fine Arts.
